‘Slumdog Millionaire’( The Oscar winning film) film-makers have donated $747,000 to the Mumbai slum kids for improve their lives .
The money will be given to Plan, an international children’s charity that has been working in India since 1979. Their aim is to educate and aid 5,000 street children in 5 years.

“Having benefited so much from the hospitality of the people of Mumbai it is only right that some of the success of the movie be plowed back into the city in areas where it is needed most and where it can make a real difference to some lives,” director Danny Boyle said in a statement.
The film which depicts the tale of a classic rags-to-riches story won 8 Oscars and grossed $200 million. Which led to heavy criticism about how they never shared any of this amount of money with the people of the slums and said that they have exploited the two headlining actors after their stories led them back to a Muslim slum where they lived only minutes away from a posh Bollywood area.
